The Oceanographic Institute of Monaco is a private foundation of recognised public utility, founded in 1906. It upholds and shares its mission of “knowing, loving and protecting the oceans”, following the wish of its founder, Prince Albert I of Monaco.

Combining craftsmanship and concern for artistic creativity, Daum works highlight the expertise of master glassmakers. The molten crystal bends to their will, where shapes and colors compete audacity.

♦ DAUM :

The crystal is melted at 1450 ° C, it is in the hell of the oven that begins the first phase of the adventure. The Lorraine tradition of glassmakers is a wonderful image. The crystal bakes in the oven, no impurity is accepted.

The Daum crystal factory is known throughout the world. A symbol of French luxury, the creations are unique and reveal all the know-how of craftsmen. Daum has marked the history of the decorative arts of the twentieth century. From Art Nouveau to Art Deco, Daum has distinguished itself by numerous artistic collaborations. More than 350 in total. The Universal Exhibition of 1900 awarded Daum a Grand Prix and brought it international renown. Always innovative, Daum had already cloaked electric light with glass, in association with major artists of the period, like Majorelle and Henry Bergé.

Today, Daum continues the tradition of crystal paste, with new collections developed with the greatest designer and artist : Richard Orlinski, Serge Mansau, Marie-Paule Deville-Chabrolle, Jean-Philippe Richard ...

Nature, Flora and fauna. Three key elements in the history of the brand. The quintessence of the brand since its origins.
