ADDITIONNAL INFORMATIONS

Classically trained at the National Superior Conservatory of Paris for Music, the musician Manu Katché was first promised a noble career as a percussionist in a symphonic orchestra. This was probably one of the reasons behind the “Katché sound”, which made his drum stroke instantly recognizable by discerning music lovers. This particular stroke of a wand took him from jazz to pop-rock. Very quickly, he was found alongside the great French names of music: Goldman, Souchon, Chedid, Michel Jonasz, and especially Peter Gabriel for the album “So”.

Immediately, the very particular sound of his drums was identified by pop-rock stars, and opened the doors to studios and major international stages. He would also record for Sting, Dire Straits, Tears for Fears, The Christians, Robbie Robertson, Joan Armatrading, Paul Young, Tracy Chapman, Youssou N’Dour…

Praised and rewarded with several Victoires de la Musique awards, both as an exceptional musician and a talented composer, he never gave up on his first love: jazz. Today, evolution brings him to a more electro universe, with his group “The Scope”, with whom he tours with internationally.
